Day Twenty: Over the Equator

Today began bright and early with us hopping in a bus to O'Hare Intl Airport Chicago. The driver was a really chatty african american guy - who was a former limo driver and had driven Jordan and Oprah - apparently MJ is notoriously stingy on tipping!

Our 10:50 flight was on time and all was set for a good trip to Lima Peru via Miami. Not gonna bore you with the flight details... except Eat Pray Love was the inflight movie again. I am still yet to watch it properly although i have physically seen the thing three times, each whilst listening to my music. From what i gather, it seems very mauch like our holiday, lots of eating, loving - not so much praying (more paying) - but hey!

We arrived in Lima airport at 10:15 and were greeted by a lovely Peruvian man holding a sign saying Simone Cherry. Was pretty cool - felt a bit like a rockstar. He spotted sim straight away - i guess we do standout down here.

What an enlightening ride in - funniest part already is the minivans or combi buses packed with like 20 people in them acting as shuttles. (we were not like this just so you know parents)

anyway - our hotel is lovely - colonial republic era spanish villa feel - quite gorgeous and beautiful gardens. although the only weird thing so far is weve leaerned Peruvians dont flush their toilet paper down toilet - rather place in a bin next to it - stops blockages so they say - not sure about that tho, sim had to block her nose all night!!!(sic)
anyway - it feels really refreshing to be in a warmer climate - not to mention in SOUTH AMERICA -woooh!

buenas noches
