Day Thirty Four: Quito

We finally got a chance to sleep in today. Well if ya can call 7:30 a sleep in. We had brekkie and then wandered down to cafe Arabica in search of a decent cup of coffee. Not bad- I've missed decent coffee so much.

We then headed out to Jorge Chavez Intl airport. It was time to say goodbye to Peru, it's been great.

We were on our way to Ecuador. The flight was made more enjoyable as I watched and listened to the English Prem league weekend wrap up, with commentary by south Americans. Gooooooooaaaaaaaaal! I love the excitement of the commentators when a goal is scored, and cos it was all highlights, it was all goals and I mean gooooooooaaaaaaaaals!

We landed in Quito around 3:30 and headed to the hotel. We needed to get some washing done urgently, do we headed down to the old town, Plaza Foch. A full load was US$4. Much cheaper than the US$50 the hotel wanted to charge.

We headed out for dinner at an all you could eat and drink Tapas&Vino Bar.
Best $30 spent. Yummy and good Pinot Noir, and Carmenere once that was all done.

All in all, today was a pretty cruisy day.

Off to Galapogas tomorrow

Happy Aust Day!
