Day Sixteen: Brooklyn wanderings

Last full day in NYC today. Me and sim hopped on the subway and headed to outer Brooklyn, was quite a ride actually, saw many cool neighborhoods, well at least I did, Simone slept. She gas a tendency to do that on almost all forms of moving vehicles/transport.

We got off at Prospect and wandered thru...the park is Brooklyns answer to Central Park, not quite as big but still as beautiful. Designed by same guys actually, Fred olmstead. Was quite beautiful strolling thru snow covered landscape, lots of scurrying squirells for simmi to adore too.

We then headed to downtown Brooklyn which was kinda boring to be truthful, so we went back into Manhattan. We got off at Washington Square in Greenwich Village and strolled thru it's streets and parks, then up fifth avenue. We wandered thru Union Sq and then up to Madison Sq where the Flatiron Building is. Was a nice sunny day so the city looked gorgeous. We had lunch in a deli - they're really big here - we've had lots of paninis. We then checked out the Grand Central Station building and wandered up by the Seagram Building to MoMA before heading back to Billyburg for the nite.

That nite we ate locally, at an Argentinian restaurant suggested by the woman who leased us the apartment. At the risk of sounding repetitive, the food was DELICIOUS! Lots of Argentinian grilled meats and veggies. Mmmm. Yummy
Oh and did I mention the wine, Argentinian Pinot noir, very smooth!

It was good that we didn't have far to go home, cos our bloated bellies were not in a walking mood!

  1. Mat so far "delicious" seems to be the most used word on hour blog.
